Pick a color that stays that color.
Six colors, one rubber — all recycled American tire rubber, all backed 12 years, all delivered free. Painted colors start at $709 a pallet delivered and unpainted at $559 — your exact price depends on your state, shown by ZIP below. Find your look below; we'll size the job for you.
Brown
A deep brown that reads like fresh hardwood mulch — and still does in year ten. Beds or play areas.
Red
A rich, redwood tone with real depth — vibrant against green lawns and it works in beds and play areas alike.
Black
Clean and contemporary. Makes green plants and bright equipment stand out, and hides dirt and scuffs.
Blue
The playful one. Turns a backyard set or school playground into somewhere kids are excited to run to — color that lasts.
Green
Green blends into grass and foliage — the pick when you want the plants, not the mulch, to show. Holds its color for years.
Unpainted
The same durable, cushioning rubber with no added color — the most economical way to cover a large area.
Every price is the full delivered cost, curbside — freight included, free to the 48 contiguous states, the price you see is what you pay. One pallet is 75 cubic feet (about 300 sq ft at 3″ deep), and the per-pallet price drops as you add pallets. Color that lasts 12 years
Every painted color is backed by a 12-year color guarantee — no re-mulching every spring like wood.
Same quality, every color
All six are the same durable, recycled American rubber — the color is your choice, the performance is identical.
Free delivery, any color
Delivered free to the 48 contiguous states (every state except Alaska and Hawaii), with a tree planted for every pallet ordered — whichever color you choose.
How to choose your color.
Every color is the same IPEMA-certified rubber, and each works just as well under a swing set as it does in a flower bed. It comes down to the look you want and how the spot gets used.
By the look you're going for
Want it to disappear and let the plants lead? Brown and green settle quietly into a landscape — brown reads as a rich, freshly-mulched bed, green blends with grass and foliage.
Want a clean, modern look? Black makes green plants and bright equipment stand out, and hides dirt and scuffs.
Want warmth and contrast in beds? Red brings a rich redwood tone that stands out against a green lawn.
Building a space for kids? Blue turns a backyard set or school playground into somewhere kids are excited to run to.
Covering a big area on a budget? Unpainted is the same durable rubber with no added color — the most economical way to cover ground.
By sun & heat
Like any surface, darker colors absorb more of the sun's heat than lighter ones. In full afternoon sun, black or unpainted feels warmer underfoot than a lighter brown — the same way a dark car seat runs hotter than a light one.
For a play area in full, all-day sun, a lighter color, a little shade, or a quick rinse on the hottest afternoons keeps it comfortable. In shade or normal use it's a non-issue — and unlike wood, rubber doesn't break down, attract insects, or feed mold in any color.

Does color change anything else?
Only the price, slightly: painted colors start at $709 delivered per pallet and unpainted at $559, with your exact delivered price set by your state. Durability, the 12-year color guarantee, and the IPEMA / ASTM F1292 playground certification are identical across all six.
Color FAQ
Do the colors fade?
Not the way painted wood mulch does. Our painted colors carry a 12-year color guarantee, and the rubber itself lasts for many years without rotting or breaking down. Over many years any outdoor color softens slightly in direct sun — which is exactly what the guarantee is there for.
Which color is best for a playground?
All of them — every color is the same IPEMA-certified, ASTM F1292-tested surface, so safety never depends on color. For a play area in all-day sun a lighter color stays a touch cooler underfoot. More on playground surfacing →
Is one color cooler in the summer?
Lighter colors like brown absorb a little less heat than darker ones like black or unpainted in direct sun, the same as any surface. In shade or normal use the difference is minor, and a quick rinse cools any color on the hottest afternoons. The full picture, with sources, is on our Is rubber mulch safe? page.
Does the color change the price?
Only slightly. Painted colors start at $709 per pallet delivered and unpainted at $559; your exact price depends on your delivery state. Delivery is free to the 48 contiguous states in every color, and the per-pallet price drops as you add pallets.
Is unpainted lower quality?
No — it's the exact same recycled American rubber, just without the added color coat. It's the most economical choice for large areas, playgrounds, and tight budgets, with the same cushioning and the same long, no-rot life.
Can I match an existing area or mix colors?
Yes. Plenty of customers match what they already have or blend two colors. Tell us what you're picturing on a quote and we'll help you get it right.
